About the Library
Lanier Technical College students, faculty, and staff can borrow library materials by presenting a current LTC photo ID card. Gainesville College students and community members with Ga. Pines library cards can check out books also.

Checking Out
Books in the general collection check out for a two-week period for all patrons, except at the end of the quarter. Books may be renewed as often as needed providing there are no holds on the title. During the last weeks of the quarter all books are due. Reference materials do not check out. These books, periodicals, and video items must be readily available to all library users. Exceptions exist for brief faculty checkouts as noted in Library Policy.

Overdue Fines
It is the responsibility of the patron to ensure return of library items in a timely manner. When an overdue notice is sent to students through their instructor, the mail, or as email, the fines will begin on the date noted in the message. Students with overdue books may have a hold placed on their student record that affects grades, registration, transcripts, and graduation status. All fines must be paid in full in order to remove the hold.

Lost or Damaged Titles
Any item that is lost or damaged beyond repair while checked out will result in a replacement cost. Books are replaced with the current edition. All replacement costs must be paid in full to have the hold taken from the student’s records.

Interlibrary Loans
Lanier Tech Libraries hold cooperative agreements with many other libraries. Students with ID cards can use the services and check out books at these libraries statewide. A list of these libraries is available on the Library Orientation link on the web page. LTC Library is also a member of the GOLD interlibrary loan network. Membership permits our library to make loan requests from other libraries in the Southeastern Library Information Network by filling out an interlibrary loan request form within the library or by email. Forms are available under Research Help on the Library main web page.
