Accelerating Opportunities Program
  Program Concept
This new program is designed to allow GED®, ESL and Learning Support students the opportunity to fast track into a new career. Students take courses here at Lanier Technical College to complete certification programs that will enrich their lives through better job opportunities.

Dual Enrollment
Students in the AO program attend regular GED® or ESL classes while also taking courses at Lanier Technical College. The AO grant, along with private donations are used to assist students with both tutoring and financial aid assistance. Students must complete their GED® before being allowed to receive their certificate in their chosen career pathway. Participants usually qualify for the Hope Grant and can also apply for additional scholarships.

Selected technical colleges have found the AO program to be very successful in providing outstanding job opportunities for their graduates. We currently have several career pathways available for the fall semester at Lanier Tech. These pathways includes Automotive Refinishing Assistant I, Criminal Justice, Electronics Technician Assistant, Nurse Aide, Industrial Electrician, Microsoft Excel Application User, Solar Electrical Technician and Welding. There are minimum test scores required to become a member of the AO program. GED® instructors and our tutoring specialists will assist you in reaching these goals.
